May 28, 2017 at 06:02PMbad things happen for a reason is such a bullshit line. i know it helps some of you feel better about the way the future will unfold, but things don’t even remotely work that way. bad things happen. not for a reason and certainly not for a good reason. just because a survivor of a horrible event is stronger after having lived through hell doesn’t mean it was something they had to go through to… “reap the benefits” in a perverted way, it’s in no way justified, it’s not the source of future positive outcomes and results. effect doesn’t justify the cause. bad things happen and we make the best of them, we try to turn something ugly into something remotely good, but it doesn’t go both ways. “bad things happen for a reason” is so horrifically ill-conceived even if most of you use it well-meaningly. don’t spout things like that to anyone’s face, especially those affected, it’s insulting
