Ancient Romans probably didn’t have orgies. Though Romans did have a lot of sexual encounters, they were usually kept private. The idea of ‘Roman orgies,’ according to some historians, is likely a myth that was created by Christians who wanted to convince the Romans that Christianity was a more virtuous religion and that Jesus had better morals than the ancient Roman gods.
