¿Cúal es el daño?

¿Se han preguntado por qué usamos la medicina alópata? Simple, es la que se basa en evidencias, en estudios completos, en fundamentos probados, y si se equivoca se corrige en cuanto se conoce el error, sin embargo cuando utilizamos medicinas alternativas ¿Qué pasa?¿Qué podría salir mal? Es decir, lo que esta en juego es la salud, la vida y sin embargo nos confiamos a lo que un acupuntutrista, un chamán, un brujo o un homeopata nos diga muchas veces sin pruebas, pero al fin y al cabo ¿Cuúl es el daño de hacer esto?¿Qué es lo peor que podría pasar si opto por una de estas alternativas? What´s the harm se encarga de recopilar precisamente las respuestas a esta pregunta organizada por la alternativa que se elige ¿Ejemplos?:

Acupuntura:
Jane Roe(40 years).-Seeking relief from her fibromyalgia, she visited an acupuncturist. The needle punctured her unusually thin chest wall, and damaged her heart. She was dead within 2 hours.

Homeopatía:
Cameron Ayres(6 months).-Cameron was born with a rare but treatable disorder, but his parents distrusted conventional medicine. A nurse/homeopath begged them to take him to a doctor, but they refused. He died.

¿El HIV no causa SIDA?
Sophie Brassard(37 years)Sophie was HIV-positive and mother of two HIV-positive sons. She denied that HIV caused AIDS and refused conventional treatments for her sons. Her custody was revoked and she later died of AIDS.

Testigos de Jehová(por cierto si lees la biblia te enteras que se llama Yahvé):
Emma Gough(22 years).-Just hours after giving birth to twins, she refused a blood transfusion because she was a Jehovah's Witness. Now her children are motherless.

Cienciología:
Christopher Arbuckle(25 years).-He was taking a Scientology "Purification Rundown" which involved extreme exercise and vitamin megadoses. He died of liver failure and his parents filed suit against the church.
